START SMART BASKETBALL - Spring 2017

Boys & Girls ages 3-5

A program designed to teach children ages 3-5 and their parents the basic skills and fundamentals of basketball. Each parent will work with their child one-on-one in a controlled, non-competitive environment.

Date: Saturdays, March 4th - April 1st

Time: 9 - 945AM

Cost: Members $50, Residents $60, Non-Residents $65

Registration: begins January 17th, ends February 24th

VOLLEYBALL - Spring 2017

Boys & Girls grades 1-8

Instructional 6 week program to introduce skills
and fundamentals of volleyball through modified game play and drills.

Dates: March 7th - April 13th

Times:
Tuesdays 5:45pm-6:30pm (1st/2nd grade) 6:45-7:30pm (3rd/4th grade)
Thursdays 5:45pm-6:30pm (5th/6th grade) 6:45-7:30pm (7th/8th grade)

Cost: Members $45, Residents $55, Non-residents $60
*participants receive a t-shirt & training ball

Registration: begins January 17th, ends February 24th


T-BALL - Spring 2017

Boys & Girls ages 5 & 6

Kids are placed on a team with volunteer coaches and learn the game of baseball through practices and game play against other teams. Baseballs are hit off tees in this level.

DATES: End of April - Middle of June (depending on field conditions)

TIMES: Monday/Wednesday 5-6pm or 6-7pm
Tuesday/Thursday 5-6pm or 6-7pm

COST: Members $70, Residents $80, Non-Residents $85


COACH PITCH - Spring 2017

Bosy & Girls ages 7 & 8

Kids are placed on a team with volunteer coaches and learn the game of baseball through practices and game play against other teams. Baseballs are pitched by coaches in this level.

DATES: End of April - Middle of June (depending on field conditions)

TIMES: Monday/Wednesday, 5-6pm or 6-7pm; Tuesday/Thursday, 5-6pm or 6-7pm

COST: Members $70, Residents $80, Non-Residents $85


TRACK & FIELD 2017

2nd-8th grade coed

This program will include friendly competition with relays, sprints, and long distance runs focusing on running form and strategy. We will also work on a multitude of different field events with high school athletes and coaches. Participants will practice once a week and compete in a modified track meets.

DATES: April 26th - May 31st (rain date June 7)

TIMES: Wednesdays, 5:30 - 7:00pm

COST: Members $45 / Residents $55 / Non-residents $60

*NEW* High School Flag Football

The Ludlow Community Center/Randall Boys and Girls Club will be offering its 1st season of high school flag football this summer. The program is co-ed for teens ages 13 through 17. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals and rules of flag football while engaging in competitive games against each other. Parents are encouraged to help with practices and volunteer their time as coaches for the teams.

Registration Date: April 27th through June 9th, 2017
Program Dates: June 27th through August 3rd

Location: Ludlow Community Center/Randall Boys & Girls Club Athletic Field

Costs:

*Includes an official NFL Flag reversible uniform, belt and 2 flags

Credit Policy:
Credit will only be given if registration is cancelled at least 5 business days prior to the start of the program/event. No credit will be given for classes missed when registering for a session. 
If the Ludlow Community Center/ Randall Boys and Girls Club cancels a program due to low registration or inclement weather, a refund will be given to those who registered.

DIVISION “HS 1 & 2”
The number of divisions will vary based on the number of registered participants.
Division “HS 1” will be comprised of incoming Freshman and Sophomores while Division “HS 2” will be comprised of Juniors and Seniors. Both High School Divisions will practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30—7:30p. The first couple weeks of practices will be for skill review and then we will begin the game schedule. We will play be the official NFL FLAG FOOTBALL rules. You do not need to be a member of the high school football team in order to play.


NFL Flag Football

Ages 5-12, co-ed

The Ludlow Community Center/Randall Boys and Girls Club will be offering it’s 9th season of youth flag football this summer. The program is a co-ed, educational opportunity for youths ages 5 through 12 to learn the basic fundamentals and rules of football. Parents are encouraged to help with practices and volunteer their time as coaches for the teams.

Division "A": ages 5 & 6
Practice will take place on the field behind the Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30PM. Players in this division will focus on basic skills such as handoffs, throwing, catching, defending and pulling flags.

Division "B": ages 7 - 9
Division "C": ages 10-12
Division B will practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:30PM. Division C will practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30PM. The first couple of weeks of practice will be for skill review, then will begin the game schedule.

Fun Ways to Run - Youth Cross Country Program

Ages: Boys & Girls in grades 3 - 8
Kids learn to love running through games like Capture the Flag, Kick the Can, Manhunt and more. Each practice will incorporate fun games that involve constant running. Each participant will be expected to be involved in the games to help increase their running fitness.Three cross country meets will take place with a 1.5 mile run.
Location: the Club's Athletic Field

Practice Dates & Times: Wednesdays, Sept. 13th – Oct. 18th, 5:45-7:00PM

Races: Fridays - Sept. 29th, Oct. 13th, Oct. 20th, 6:00-7:00PM
Participants will run a 1.5 mile cross country course near the Ludlow Community Center/Randall Boys & Girls Club facility. Parent volunteers will be needed during race days to ensure children's safety along the course.

Registration: Open until September 8, 2017

START SMART SOCCER



The Ludlow Community Center/Randall Boys and Girls Club will be offering children ages 3-5 the chance to get a head start on learning the foundations of soccer. Start Smart Soccer is a program designed to teach children and their parents the basic skills of Soccer. Each parent will work with their child in a one-on one controlled, educational environment.

AGES: 3-5, co-ed

2017 Program Dates: October 14 - November 18

Times: Saturday Mornings,
Session 1: 9:00am - 9:45am / Session 2: 10:00am - 10:45am

Each session will consist of 10 participants. A third and/or fourth session will be added, if needed.

Cost: Members $50
Residents $60
Non-Residents $65

2017 Registration Dates: September 5 - October 6

*Each participant receives a Start Smart kit that includes: 2 soccer balls, a set of cones, and a participant’s manual.


High School Boys Rec Basketball

AGES: Must be in 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grades

DATES/TIMES: Games will begin in January 2017

COST: Club Members: $100
            Residents: $110
            Non-residents: $115

REGISTRATION FOR THIS PROGRAM HAS ENDED 
                              
You may sign up as an individual and be placed on a team, or create your own team and sign up together. 
We will provide uniforms and assign practice times. All home games are played at the Club.

Coaches Needed:
Our Basketball League is comprised of volunteer coaches. We are looking for and need committed and caring parents to step up and help coach our youth in the sport of basketball. We will be offering coaching clinics for basic skills this year to help set you up in the right direction in teaching our children how to properly play the game. If you or someone you know is capable and willing to help coach high school recreational basketball, please contact Amanda Nacsin at the Club prior to registration. All parents/volunteers must complete a background check before being allowed to coach with our organization.

Basketball Evaluation Information

Grades 3-4 CYO

Girls: Monday, September 18 and Thursday September 21 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Club.
Boys: Monday, September 18 and Thursday September 21 from 6:45-7:45 p.m. at the Club.


If a player cannot make the specific date of the evaluation, please contact the Athletic Director and arrange an alternate date by 9/15/17. Players who do not attend the evaluation and do not contact the Athletic Director prior to the evaluation will not be placed on a CYO team. No exceptions.

It is advised that players attend both tryouts to be able to make a CYO or Suburban level team. Players may still be eligible to make these levels if they only attend one tryout, but it could affect their placement due to an inability to properly evaluate their skill level. If there is a large number of players that want to try out that cannot make the dates arranged, there is an organized make-up date on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Please call in advance if a player cannot make a scheduled tryout.

 

Basketball Make-up Evaluation

If your son or daughter had to miss an evaluation on one of the scheduled dates due to another commitment, you may come to our make-up evaluation. Players will be looked at on an individual basis and will only have the opportunity to scrimmage if there are enough players attending. Attending at least two tryout sessions is encouraged.
